Zara is a Spanish clothing and accessories retailer based in Arteixo, Galicia, and founded in 1975 by Amancio Ortega and Rosalia Mera. It is the flagship chain store of the Inditex Group, the on of the world's largest apparel retailer.
Based on Zara's brand image, the designers of the Hong Kong store faced the challenge of how to deliver a dynamic fresh look and make a bright statement. The consensus was that the front store window displays were the stores most valuable asset and must display the brand fashion, trends, and new lines to their best advantage. It was clear to the team, given the store was located in one of the most expensive and most competitive retail locations in the world, that a ‘normal window display’ just would not cut it.
ClearLED designed and installed a pair of custom sized 2560mm wide by 8000mm high (100.78" x 314.96") ClearLED Wall transparent LED displays on the ground floor storefront at 600nit brightness. The sheer height of the deluxe custom LED displays stretch up several floors and presents as one oversized, highly impactful screen on which Zara loops its fashion video content to passing traffic—and because of its transparency, it also allows customers inside to see out and customers outside to see in without blocking any sunlight. This highly customized ClearLED video wall has been a great success for Zara.
